Lanzarote

Lanzarote is one of many islands located in the region of the Canary Islands. The island of Lanzarote is mainly made of volcanoes. The island formed roughly about 15 million years ago due to volcanic eruptions. The average temperature in Lanzarote throughout the winter is 18 degrees Celsius and throughout the summer it is around 25 degrees Celsius. The capital city is Lanzarote is Arrecife.




Facts about Lanzarote:

  • The island of Lanzarote ahs a region for making its own wine, known as La Geria.
  • In Timanfaya National Park, you can cook your own steaks on the rocks in the park.
  • The national dish in Lanzarote is Mojo potatoes, which consist of potatoes soaked in green and red pepper sauces.
  • There is a secret lagoon on the island of Lanzarote which is hidden away behind red cliffs and a black volcano mountain.
  • There is a black sand beach located in Lanzarote.
  • Lanzarote has one of the best surfing spots in the whole of Europe.
  • Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen would be two of the most popular tourist destinations for people visiting and staying in Lanzarote.

    There are many beautiful beaches in Lanzarote and snorkelling and scuba diving are also very popular things to do on these beaches.

29th January 2018 Santorini Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean sea. The island of Santorini was ruined due to a volcanic eruption in around the 16th century BC. This volcanic eruption has now given the shape to the island of a rugged landscape. Facts about Santorini: Before the name Santorini was given to the Greek island it was known as Kallístē which means "the most beautiful one."
